Gem in a box..

Came across this gem of a photo the other day. Circa 1977. St. Johnsbury Jr. High School (Trade School) for you 'ol timers..lol. Sure did a lot of growing up in them days. Some of the best and worst years. Friendships were formed, dismantled, good times availed as well as a few scraps and clashes in between.

Fond memories though..

Happy Flag Day America.

When we Honor our flag, we honor what we stand for as a Nation- Freedom, Equality, Justice and Hope.

Six years ago today I had the distinct privilege and honor of standing among these fine folks, Brothers and Sisters of the armed forces and Brothers, Sisters and classmates of St. Johnsbury Academy. It was with great pride in my class that we had several of us that attended the Veterans Bench Dedication at our Alma Mater. Raised in this small town it was a somber feeling when so many attended this event in honor of the Academy's graduates and veterans hailing from this school and hometown.

The guest speaker was then Major General Tom Bussier, also an '81 graduate among our class. None of us had an issue with the fact that it was raining that day.. we all stood and listened with intent to his speech and to the overall dedication service, with echoes of Air Force airpower in the air as they did a fly over to commemorate the dedication. The service was to dedicate and honor all those having served from our community over the years and many campaigns. It was a true honor to be among them, and in spirit with those having never made it back or out of uniform.

πŸ¦… Memorial Day weekend.

Remembering and thinking of those through our history that never made it home and out of uniform.

Hope everyone has a safe weekend and takes a little time to reflect and remember!

🏎️πŸ’¨ My '68 Chevelle

Daaaamn  I miss the 'ol girl..! Fond memories and some not so good..lol. But mostly great..! Originally white w/black vinyl. Got painted in '81-'82 can't remember which.

Paint hadn't even dried before car got decorated for my wedding and you could still read "Just Married" on the trunk where the paint had faded due to the soap.

Was wrecked by Leanne and totaled out. Telephone pole put a big 'ol "V" in the center of the grill, hood, fenders, etc. Bent the "A" frame so they totaled it.  Shame.. it was my baby!!

Followed up by my '70 Chevelle several years later.. Never did finish making her a show car, but had good reasons for letting her go..
