Fun @ 65mph

 

This is the front drivers side tire. It has had a slow leak for about three months now, and I noticed the cord starting to show the other day. Yesterday I went to pick up Deb from her workplace, as I was pulling into the parking lot the TPMS went off, so I added some air to the appropriate level before striking home. We made it to the Exit...then a complete blowout.. shredded the entire inner tire.. joy, joy ,joy. and of course it was busy traffic as it was the end of the work day hauling along at 65mph.

Thankfully I did not cancel our AAA membership. I was considering it beause of the loosey coverage and the fact one usually has to wait at least 1-3 hours before getting a reponse vehicle to show up. Well little did I know, down here, if yu are on the interstate and or exit ramps.. you get priority clearance and service.. So all in all, I believe we waited approx. 20 minutes and all was said and done and headed back to the house. The damn thing blew less than two miles awayfrom our door too...lol. 

Lesson learned  it does one no good to have a spare tire in the trunk iffin ya dont have the jack..! Damn jack was in our garage... So guess what is headed to the car first thing in AM....with any luck at all the rim wasn't damaged any. It looks to be fine, but it doesn't take much to throw off the balance and abilty to keep a good bead/seal on it. Guess we will find out when we do tires next... On the plus side the spare that we had, is basically a brand new tire.
