Crisis overted and resolved..
Finally can breath a sigh of relief. License will not be suspended in the previous case. Basically the insurance company reported that there was a lapse in coverage to the Florida Highway and Safety Motor Vehicle Division, prompting an automatic License Suspension untul I cleared up the issue.
Well the vehicle in question as sold back in April and insurance dropped. They reported it as dropped insurance policy and not as a sold vehicle. So I had three days to clear it up or boomm.. suspension and a $150 re-instatement fee would have been tacked on as well.. NOT ON MY WATCH it won't..lol. So I ran circles to DMV this past couple days trying to beat the dadline and suspension.. I had forwarded a Bill of Sale, that they did not accept because it was a hand written and signed one by both parties. Strike-1,
Went to DMV surrendered the original plate that was issued, got a printed verification reciept from them..
Went back to their website, completed an affidavit stating that I no longer owned the vehicle and the fact that it had been sold...Strike-2,
Ultimately I had to complete 5 forms, surrender the plate and prove that I had done so before the suspension deadline of midnight yesterday. My issue was having done all that, the response from the DMV website was..Submissions by email can take between 5-7 days to process..EXCUSE ME !
I have less than 12 hurs to clear this before I get a suspension and a fee/fine..All this because some idiot at the insurance company was to lazy to fill out the correct forms/report, and instead processed it as dropped policy then reported that.. Gotta love Florida DMV and insurance companies...
All said and done, I managed to get the Clearance Letter via Email lastnight at 7:30..no suspension!
Major sigh of relief, however a fueled anger for three days.. But all is "gooder" again thankfully, crisis overted...
