Long 2 weeks..

Deb has been gone for the past 2 weeks, up in Maine attending her father who has recently passed away. Time just seemed to have stood still down here. Katelyn and Orion have again relocated and went back to Maine as they intended to after spending 2 years down here with us. Things have gotten so much quiter, less hectic, and simpler. No dog barking, leaving food all over the floor as he can't for the life of him eat over his bowl, much like drinking water.. I swear that dog leaves a trail no matter what or where. The three cats have also gone with them, so there is no porch monitoring for screen breaches any longer. Already replaced every screen on the porch, a couple, twice...Cobb was the instigator in that fiasco.. she loves to try and catch the small lizards and other occasional cats that rome the neighborhood/our yard, and launches herself on the screens trying to get at them.

With the exception of the upper level, the house has been cleaned, re-arranged for about the third or fourth time., but I think it is now somewhat the way we like it. Nikki has reaarranged her library/office as well the loft family area on the upper level. Still have to refurnish and do a major cleaning up there. Not to happy that the youngest with the animals being allowed  to make such a mess and then basically walk away from it. So now we need to whipe down, vac, and steam clean carpets, etc to rid the sights and smells from the cats. I also lay a good majority of that on her husband, he had several days and hours where he could have done something other than play video games online. It wouldn't have killed him to do some cleaning, but his focus was selfish and on his personal stuff rather than the condition they were leaving the rooms in up there. But all is slowly returning to normal again.

Deb is scheduled to fly back into Orlando tomorrow night, and I am sure she is ready to come home and be done dealing with her siblings, etc over the dad issues, the estate, home repairs and sale, arrangements, etc. The list goes on.. You would think that between 6 adults... they could figure stuff out without all the turmoil.. but no...they are all of different opinions, abilities, etc, and cant seem to agree on much, hense prolonging the process and making it more dificult to get shit done in a timely manor. So, I am sure she is all but done with it and them... I know I am ready for her to be back here..

Anyway, that was just an updated version of the long 2 weeks... Lets see where we go from here!

some Palm trimming

This thing has been irritating me for a while now..lol. Sagging palms about 10 feet long, everytime I get in/out of the car I get head smacked..lol. So decided it was a good day for a haircut.!

Took off 5 palms, a seeding stock and cleaned her up a bit. I tell ya though, I am not a fan of standing on a ladder anymore, after about the 6th step the 'ol knees where getting that familiar wabble of unsteadiness, but I plowed through. Ever since dropping about 30 feet while bow hunting many years ago, the thought of doing crazy crap like this scares te hell of me. Only comforting thought was that If I did drop.. there were no branches to break the fall or any bones on the way down..

Old story: I was climbing into my hunting stand and attempting to strap in when my foot went off the front end of the stand before I got connected into my harness.. Long story short it was a fast drop and a couple branch bounces later before hitting the ground and trying to suck air...luckily I had no broken bones, just some extremely sore body parts for about a week or two. Even the guy who's property I was on said he could hear the drop and branches snapping from his trailer about 200 yards away.

But I think it looks better now, more sunlight, no annoying slapping palms, etc.

A new favorite in the cupboard..

Craft a cuppa joe reminiscent of the holidays with the Naturally Flavored Peppermint Stick Light Roast Coffee from Good & Gather. Fair Trade Certified Arabica beans from South America deliver a sweet, refreshing blend with hints of peppermint candy for an irresistible treat.

Snagged this random bag of coffee more so out of curiosity and out of need for the bean..lol.

Much to my surprise this is great. I usually dont like to go for the flavored types as to me that takes away from what my coffee should be. I dont much like the artificiac creamers any nor the flavored coffee itself, but this,... this one I will make an exception for. I like it.. a lot.

Enjoying a cup as I sit and type this post..lol. The Good & Gather brand, has many different flovored coffers available, but I am still hesitant to try the others. I like my coffee to be coffee.. not some sweetend fantacy with a fancy name behind it.. But this actually combines 2 of my favorite flavors and enjoyments.. If you come across any... give it a try!

Silence

Gotta love it when someone calls you, you answer then sit and wait for the background noise to disapate all the while nowing its either a robo call or some nit-whit on the other end just trying to make their quota, cause they dont say a thing, all ya will hear from me is moaning and breathing ya jerk-off. Once you say hello a second time I usually hear a click..not a word spoken, not a message left, nadda..

Thinking I am going to get creative with these spam calls...lol.

Real syrup..

Well you can take the man out of Vermont, But you can't take the Vermont out of the man...

Breakfast of champions..lol. Good 'ol flapjacks and syrup & coffee. I sure do miss the Vermont syrup though. Would be real nice if someone would send along some REAL syrup down to the south end of my neighborhood.

I've tried New Jersey, I've tried Maine, but nothing compares as yet to fresh real syrup from Vermont..

And I really dispise these fake syrup wanna be's.. there is no syrup in there its all chemicals and processed sugar...blah.

Deb calls me a syrup snob, and rightfully so...lol. Those that know... I grew up in St.Johnsbury and we had the privilaged title of the Maple Center of the World and for good reason. sure do miss those small jugs and glass maple leaf syrup bottles.. One of these years I will again have to get back to St.J during the festival and collect me some golden goodness.

God 'ol Maple Groves syrup, as pure as it gets...Proud to have called the groves Home!

The Bucket..

I cannot count the number of times I really wish I had such a bucket. My bucket list floweth over many times, but oh how I would love to have the 'Fuck It Bucket' close by..

The problem with that is that, that particular bucket would probably get more input than the actual wish bucket.

More & more I get to the point of not really giving a shit anymore about certain things, circumstances, people, etc.. So ya, I think I am going to incorporate the "Fuck it Bucket" mentallity and prosper going forward..if nothing else, than for my own sanity.

I think we all need such a bucket in our lives to rid the negatives and lighten the load of stress.

That breif moment of peace..

I am in need of a cruise.. yes I think its rapidly approaching that time again. Just want to get away for a week or so, and forget about a lot of things.Even though prep and financing can be a hassle, the joy and peace it brings me is overwhelming. Open air, open oceans, open bars,,,lol. not a care in the world except to figure out what I want to do in the moment. There is a lot to be said about just walking away from lifes problems, issues and termoils even if it is only for a brief moment or two. The freedom and peace that one gets from the daily grind and stress, that rejuvintion to continue on in the next chapter, you know that feeling. I equate it to my first morning cup of coffee... the aticipation, the smells, the fresh air, and bam.. that first sip hits your soul.. That breif momonet when all is well and peaceful..

Ya, I am in need of another cruise..!

Another day..

Just sitting here caffeinating and contemplating some life choices. Its been a rough past month or so, and the decisions just keep piling up as the days go by. We have family passing away, others moving away, and some that are just plain ass lazy at times and can't be relied upon for much other than chaos. So where do we/I go from here?

Considering relocating to a smaller home somewhere in the area as the house we are in now is way to big for our needs and financial responsibilities. With mounting car repairs, employment in the wind at the moment and not having a pot to piss in, its becoming more difficult to maintain my sunny disposition.. lol.

Dont get me wrong, I really like it here where we are now, its peaceful stave for an annoying yappy mutt across the pond. Its the independence that I miss, the lack of funds, and a questionable future as the retirement years begin to go forward. Just want to be comfortable and not under anyone's thumb or obligation. Family is great, but it can also turn ugly real quick under the wrong circumstances and the question is not of who or how, but when. You know, its that overpowering feeling of doom and gloom that hovers in the back of ones mind. We'll see, hopefully its just a bad vibe that will dissipate in short order.

So for now, I sit back, enjoy my nectar of the gods and hope for the best as that is about all the control I have of the situation for now.

Vein of my existance

Love this rig, but for the last three weeks it has been a real pain in the ass to contend with.

Serpentine belt and tensioner pully shredded ,and of course that needed replacing, then the alternator crapped out, and of course the one the previous mechanic ( and I use the term loosely here) put it was a dud.., that meant that the battery was totally discharged and only pushing out about 1-2 volts. So of course the jeep can't run...Having been ghosted by not one, but two mechanics now,  Deb had finally found a guy right up the street that has a mobile business and comes to you...great.. So I have been sitting here waiting for this guy since 10AM as that was the time he was to come. He did however at least call me to explain he was running late at his full time job, so I guess that is at least worth some points, considering I never heard from the other two after saying they would be by or back to do the work. So we ended up having to purchase the belt, the pully, the alternator, and a second new battery. HOPEFULLY, this is the end and he gets it running proper.. I was seriously considering throwing in the towel on this one..

In addition to this, our other vehicle the Focus lost the starter about three months ago and has not run until this past week having had that replaced by the guy coming today.. So in total we have not had a reliable/running vehicle for almost a month now..  They say when it rains It pours  or in this case Poor's as we have spent way to much on these repairs already...

If it weren't for the fact that I owe so much on it still, I considered trading it in for a newer, reliable truck, hell, I might still do it anyway if I'm gunna owe, might as well owe a bit longer...
